I
installed HTML Assistant Pro successfully but when I go to run it, I can't
see it on my screen.
There is a simple fix for the problem you have reported concerning HTML
Assistant Pro 2000.
It
seems that on a few systems, one of the Active-X components used by HTML
Assistant Pro 2000 is not being registered properly by the Windows
operating system. On these computers, Pro 2000 seems to start, but the
main screen does not appear.
You
will be able to run Pro 2000 successfully after you register the offending
Active-X control as follows:
The
unregistered file is "picclp32.ocx".
To
register a file:
-
Assuming that you are using Windows 95 or 98, you'll need the file:
regsvr32.exe. You'll find this file in your \windows\system directory.
-
Bring regsvr32.exe out to your desktop as a shortcut.
-
Drag the file you want to register (in this case, the copy of
picclp32.ocx which resides in the Windows/system directory) onto the
regsvr32.exe shortcut.
-
You should see a message saying 'registration successful' or something
to that effect.
Now
try to run Pro 2000.
