File - Open Function

When I have been editing for quite a while, the "file - open" function will not work and the application has to be shut down and opened up again.

This is a Windows and memory issue. Windows uses memory resources for accessing files from your directories. After some time, your system can run out of the relatively small amount of memory that Windows reserves for this purpose.

When this happens, close all your programs and restart your computer. When the computer restarts the memory will be completely restored.
